What each build was for, what changed in it, and which one this site offers today.
HydroBot 2.0.1
The build this site offers: bots and chats on a new base, with an account that decides who may run, three checks before the window opens, and Teams in the sidebar. If you used a 0.x beta, install this one from the download page — the app is different inside, and your old conversations do not carry over.
What changed
- Teams: a request whose id is missing is now treated as missing rather than failing, and a live check reports the reason it refused.
- The strip under the window reports allowance for the signed-in account.
- Every documentation link in the app opens our own documents page, including the five new guides those links point at.
- A HydroBot account is now required to run. New accounts wait for approval by hand, and one account is signed in on one device at a time.
- Three checks on every launch: your account, a current build, and a working connection to the internet and our account service. A failed check says which one it was, and the app stays closed until it passes.
- Teams: create a team, put its bots on one canvas, write instructions they all share, and give the team a computer of its own.
- Documents: ask for a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file and the bot builds the real file, checks how it renders, and tells you where it saved it. Ask it to review one of yours and it reports what is wrong before repairing a copy.
- Approvals leave a receipt. After you allow something, the card says what was actually done and by which bot, instead of disappearing without a word.
- Pairing links now work only for the job they were issued for.
- Builds for macOS on Apple silicon and Intel, Windows 10 and 11, and Ubuntu, each with the same version number.
- Removed: The Office demo and organization sign-in. Neither is part of the app any more.
Earlier releases
The 0.x line was the beta before 2.0.0. Its notes are kept here for the record; some of what it added — The Office, organization sign-in, company presets — is no longer in the product.
-
2.0.0
The 2.0 line: an account decides who may run, three checks before the window opens, Teams in the sidebar, and installers for all three platforms.
-
0.16.0
Switching a bot or a team from inside the Code tab, instead of leaving the workbench.
-
0.15.0
A pane for the account, a weekly rhythm for routine changes, and an agent panel in the workbench.
-
0.14.0
A redesign of the sidebar and the workbench: one place for bots, chats and the work a bot is doing.
-

Group chats, delivery to Discord and Slack, and the Code tab.
-
0.12.2
The Office, a demo floor where every bot sat at a desk.
-

-

An admin-only content team for X, and controls for an isolated desktop on a VPS.
-
0.11.1
Raise a whole company at once: a lead who takes the brief, and the specialists who do the work.
-
0.11.0
Bot routines: work a bot does on a schedule, without a person asking.
-
0.10.6
A warning screen before a bot is deleted, so one click cannot lose a conversation.
-

Deleting a bot you no longer need.
Builds before 0.10.5 were numbered betas without notes of their own.
